An all-sky image taken at the MMT Observatory here in southern Arizona early this morning. Besides a pretty great 22° halo around the Moon (lower left), note the spot of pink/purple light just above-left of center. That's from the 2nd stage entry burn of the #SpaceX #Falcon9 launched from KSC at 1002 UTC.
Astronomers have been seeing these glows in the night sky for a while now, which are kind of induced aurora. See, e.g.: https://www.livescience.com/space/space-exploration/spacex-rockets-keep-tearing-blood-red-atmospheric-holes-in-the-sky-and-scientists-are-concerned
