I think my model is more, "not being censored" is level 1 on a Maslow-style hierarchy of info needs, and once that's reasonably satisfied, focus can and should shift to level 2, which contains "not being info-flooded".
(Levels 3+ involve subtler stuff like subtly bad arguments)
