As for a jingoistic celebration, I have yet to see •any• element of celebration from those who choose to wear one. Perhaps others’ experience is different, but I’ve never seen it worn except with sombre reverence for the sacrifices made and the reinforced hope that we carefully weigh the costs of conflict if we can’t avoid it.
