ins0mniak (nprofile…x7xy) I actually took a new 2025 Ford Ranger xl trim 2WD for a test drive earlier this week. I liked the crew cab configuration better than I thought I would, and the truck handles better than the old Rangers like the one I drive. I just could not warm up to the 2.3 liter Ecoboost engine though. I will never like or trust forced induction engines, especially when they have aluminum blocks and heads. It’s just a recipe for an eventual disaster. But seeing that a V8 Coyote will fit into the engine bay of current-gen Rangers, now I may have to reconsider buying one eventually. It would be a major project to do an engine swap, but having a naturally-aspirated V8 in a midsize truck would be beyond awesome.
