Some students struggle with poofs in 9th grade geometry. I’ve suggested we make the proof “easier” by giving a more suggestive diagram: the angles and lines that matter for the ‘most obvious’ way to do this proof are shown. I think a “successful experience” with a proof is more important than having them grappling with the multiple ways to do the proof. That said, I worry this could confuse rather than help any student who sees a different path. Thoughts?
