I know people hate paywalls and I'm not a fan either, but I think we got too used to seeing journalism as a public good when it's mostly not. There are some public broadcasters (and they are important - information for everyone and all) but other media need to be financed somehow. Online that's either through a ton of ads and datamining or a paywall (or a mix of both). They don't receive gov funding, so they can't be free. Just like the newspapers and magazines on the kiosk. #journalism
