The main reason #Google won't take action to improve their account recovery systems for the many users who get locked out through no fault of their own, often losing all their email and other data stored with Google in the process, is that Google just doesn't feel that the particular cohort of users is large enough on a percentage basis to bother with, even though the actual number of physical persons involved is very large on an absolute basis. Even when offered ways to improve this situation with little to zero additional cost, Google absolutely refuses to budge from letting these users swing in the wind helplessly. It's nightmarish, and I've been trying to get Google to move on this for many years, with no success at all.
