So, apparently, in the opinion of a "professional" who didn't even have a look at my file beforehand and stated within 20 minutes of first seeing me, I'm not #neurodivergent. Because I act "#normal enough".
Well. If there's an encounter on which a lot is riding, if you tell me that you're completely unprepared, and thus get me on Double Red Alert, and need me communicating my case at all costs, why, sure, what you get is all mask. Which, if you had looked at the file, you'd know had been drummed into me from early childhood to the point that I can't even do anything about it. Of course you won't know my cold sweat, my heart racing, and you won't know the next 3 days of me being basically good for nothing at home hiding out, because I took out a loan on spoons with a credit shark, since THIS IS IMPORTANT, and needs me at peak functioning whatever the cost.
Functioning on point? That's not what I need help for. I need help not overstraining myself functioning. I need help to find ways to keep up baseline function for any extended time, so that I can, I don't know, do household stuff, remember to eat.
But that's not important, right. What is important seems to be that I can keep an appearance for 20 minutes when you pressure my mask reflex. Not the cost. Not the close to physical pain. Nothing that would help me, just that helps random assmunches for the short time that they interact with me.
