Down in the basement putting down some harp tracks on the new song for a short solo. Recorded a few clean tracks with the Apex 550 large diaphragm phantom powered 48v FET condenser mic, and then decided to try the Apex 327 dynamic high impedance harp mic into the MXR Timmy direct to the interface. Holy crap it sounds good. Got that real dirty Chicago sound. Lots of settings to mess with on the Timmy - volume, gain, bass, treble and clipping switch. Very versatile pedal. Can get a wide range of really nice saturation without too much distortion. Great emulation of a tube amp with lots of luscious overdriven warmth. Highly recommended. Drying out the reeds of the harps on top of the tube preamp works pretty good too!
