Not that I know of. I've been thinking about this quite a bit, though.
You could send an event in a header, it accepts up to 8k
You only need auth if a page is doing a WRITE operation or if it is access controlled. Otherwise just sending the pubkey is enough.
I'll probably implement this quite soon.
