The downers keep on coming. Just heard that my step mom's cancer is spreading. She has to start chemo which is going to be super tough on my Dad. As you get older, you really have to find bits of joy when you can get it. I expected illness and family troubles, but the era of the US of Awful was not part of my expectation when I was imagining my 50s 20 years ago.
