What we are currently experiencing in politics in Europe is the rise of statism, whether from the far left or its counterpart on the right. It is astonishing to think that about 150 years ago Friedrich Nietzsche symbolically proclaimed the death of God as the death of the old order (christianity and aristocracy as fundamental groundworks of society) and hinted at great struggles for a new order and a new metaphysics.
It is all the more astonishing that in 2024, after decades of the disasters of the statist systems of the 20th century, we must once again witness the resurrection of this metaphysical God, that is corrupted by its historical reality, via the 'father state' that, just have been put on his throne again, presumed control of public opinion, economy and the direction of cultural life.
Younger people in particular, who have had no significant experience of statist structures in their lives, are in for a nasty surprise when they realize that this new, old god is nothing more than a mere torso, a chimera, a physically and mentally handicapped being that is unable to stand on its own two feet.
It is vampiric in nature and devours its children when the last harvest has been eaten.
