Tomorrow is the winter solstice and with a bit of luck, if the sky is clear, the rising sun will illuminate the central chamber of the Newgrange tumulus. This will be live-streamed from 8:40 UTC. The astronomical alignment is very precise and as my colleague Tom Ray showed some years ago was even more accurate at the time of construction.
