once i was in a multi-round job interview that was going very well. near the last round there was an hr interview where they asked me among other things if i had ever done anything racist at work and i answered that when i was 23 i worked at a low hourly wage job and when my boss made racist comments i did not speak up against them for fear of losing my job, and since then i have sought to never again exhibit such moral cowardice. as this was "yes" it caused me to instantly fail the interview
