I used to think it was hyperbole when people ran thinkpieces about how misinformation is fracturing our sense of a shared / collective reality, but now I see it was understatement.
I had interacted with people before in my life, whose paradigms were upside-down relative to mine, for all sorts of reasons… but now it feels like there is no fringe, there is no centre, there is just a rapidly melting flotilla of icebergs, all adrift.
