Musk’s dominance over Congress is an interesting test of how far Trump has declined. 2016 Trump would never let anyone else be America’s main character. The whole point of him is to be America’s Most Special Boy. If Musk can pull shit like this without any pushback, it’s a strong sign that Trump is totally out of it.
