So, I've briefly looked into #Bluesky... The "emacs" tag barely has any activity, and whatever there is, it seems to be bridged from here.
Also, no tag follow functionality. And infinite scrolling, although at least it's optional.
Well, I mean... It seems to be a bit saner, on average. Just look what's going on in "AI" or "crypto" tags here, much less something like "techbro" or literally anything political. On topics like these, Mastodon warps reality just like the old Twitter.
But Mastodon's model isn't dependent on what an average Mastodon user thinks. You kinda follow who you want and block words you don't want to see. And, most importantly, it doesn't have a single point of failure. No single website to block, no single admin to go insane because of politics, no single authority to censor users. Which is all very ironic given the anti-crypto vibe, but still true.
So at least now I feel like, if I change anything, I'll more likely leave social media altogether than join Bluesky.
