Teaching and showing them how successful they are as learners their whole lives is such a critical component to what I do. And how they have ready access to kinds of joy that NTs generally don't.
They've been infantilized their whole lives and can't see that they are sophisticated, thinking, feeling people. I teach some new skills, but I mostly help them see their existing strengths and explore how to use them.
