It is truly remarkable how Python communities are tackling the challenge head on. To my knowledge, no other tech community/ecosystem is mounting a response as robust as Python's.
I suspect it's no coincidence that Python was one of the first to confront its cultural issues in the early 2010's, and no doubt it helps that PyCon US is itself setting a high standard.
I'd love to see a flagship event in another ecosystem like Ruby or PHP step up – I bet it'd have great cascading effects.
