We're blessed in MN with many lovely lakes to build/live on for reasonable sums (although prices have skyrocketed out of control for what's within and hour or two of the cities). I saw these trends developing and continuing over the past 20+ years. I didn't like what i paid for my cabin: 6X what it was before I moved to DC for a dozen years. But it's doubled or tripled since then. Plus, seasonal property prices don't crash as hard.
