One of my Matt Opinions is I only track money as it moves in and out of my bank accounts. Something hitting my credit card doesn't matter until I pay my credit card. And lucky for me(?) I have a lot of credit cards that have category-specific uses. So by tracking each credit card payment I've accidentally(?) created a proxy for categorizing what my money is spent on. I don't try to categorize individual credit card line items.
