switching to a de-Googled Android OS¹ on my daily-driver phone felt to me like a breath of fresh air. Not because "it just works", sure you will tinker, but it works well-enough (on a Pixel 5) that it's actually good enough for me and offsets all the monopolistic centralized megacorp bullshit that you'd otherwise have to put up with for the sake of convenience.
Frankly paying for an iPhone after all of Apple's malicious compliance garbage² has felt dirty enough in itself, but I guess I also got a second-hand >Google< Pixel 5 so I guess I'll chose the hills I'm willing to die on. I'd hit the order button on a reasonably-sized Fairphone so fast the plastic would melt under the force of my fingertips.
