#today was "Prune all the old growth and dead wood out of the blueberry bushes" day. these 7 bushes were planted by my father over 60 years ago and have reliably provided us with many fine pies over the years. No idea as to variety. Every autumn, I prune as much of the older growth away as I dare, to allow the newer stems room to develop. Filled my cart and ran it all through the shredder, providing about a bushel of chips for mulch.
