I half agree with this, because companies are definitely going to try to replace as many people as they can with chatbots even if the chatbots are shit. the reward is too great to ignore
but the people who stay in the field aren't going to be the best programmers, generally. it'll be people with the right connections regardless of skill, diversity seat warmers, and money obsessed strivers who only care about getting hired and who therefore will jump through any hoop put in front of them
people who merely love programming and are really good at it, especially if they live outside tech hubs, will be left to their own devices
it's going to be a disaster
