Joe Biden’s transgender health secretary has praised an Alaska gender-affirming care clinic which wants the word ‘mother’ replaced with the phrase ‘egg producer.’
Dr Rachel Levine, 65, is the highest ranking openly transgender federal official in the country - and has long endorsed providing gender-affirming care to minors, arguing that the treatment is ‘lifesaving.’
Levine visited Identity Alaska - a nonprofit community center that provides resources and health care for the ‘LGBTQIA2S+’ community which stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, and two spirit.
Teachers and educators need to speak to children ‘without assuming that there are only two sexes and that everyone within a particular sex is the same.’
Instead of using the word ‘mother’ in these conversations, they recommend using terms such as ‘egg producer’ or ‘carrier.’
