I think the only reason it's been allowed for this long is bc Gleason used to be somewhat active in the community and had clout with Fedi admins. He doesn't really do that anymore, he keeps to himself except in his private dev channels. He also made big promises with NOSTR that he hasn't kept. I think we're approaching 2 years since he started working on it and Ditto still barely works.
It's not Revolver levels of not_happening but it's getting there.
