The main point of contention is that we are all free to describe what we see existing in Nostr, in the NIPs repo, but most of us will have those descriptions languishing among the other 315 PRs in the repo, whereas some people can merge their own stories, immediately.
Thankfully, fiatjaf intervened. Now, people are whining that he shouldn't have reversed the merge, but geez. Rabble used the NIP repo to mog everyone and pull a publicity stunt for his client.
