Exciting archaeological discovery in Luxor, Egypt! A joint Egyptian-American team has excavated an ancient tomb containing 11 sealed burials dating back to the Middle Kingdom (1938 BCE–1630 BCE). The tomb is believed to have been used as a family tomb for multiple generations. Although most of the wooden coffins and linen wraps were destroyed by ancient floods, jewelry from the women's burials was recovered, including a well-crafted necklace with 30 amethyst and two agate beads. This discovery comes on the heels of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Giza Pyramids.
