The classical cassegrain has a couple of key advantages over both the Schmidt and Maksutov Cassegrain designs.
Probably most important for me is that the Classical Cassegrain does not front tube lens, which are dew magnets. It's very humid in my neck of the woods.
And #2...both the mirrors are fixed position. Whereas the Schmidt and the Mak both focus by moving the primary mirrors, which is often ridden with issues. of slop and focus shifting.
