A router is a networking device, that transparently "routes" packets from one network to another. A router may contain a server (DNS, file management, etc.).
It might be part of a client-server architecture, if any servers it contains come with a separate client, rather than being controlled directly on the router.
Servers "serve" things up, usually to clients or other servers. They do not merely "route" things.
