I found a lumberyard/hardware store nearby that is not a chain store. Its literally in the woods, next to a locally owned fruit stand, and they have free fresh brewed coffee at the front of the store.
I tried to discern how theyve been able to stay in business with a Lowes nearby, and Amazon being ubiquitous.
Its service. They have several offices on the side with super knowledgable people, who do nothing but try to make contractors lives easier. All a contractor has to do is call their favorite rep, and whatever they need, will be delivered to a jobsite.
That, is why they aren’t just surviving, they’re busy.
And that is what is increasingly missing in the mega corporate box store world. Which means opportunities…
