The thing about cutting out people who have terrible values is that it cuts out a LOT of people in your life and then when there's paperwork that's all "give us three personal references" or "choose someone to be executor of your will" or "find people who don't live with you to witness this document," you're left alone sobbing on the floor and feeling like a failure.
