Now that you're mentioning that "threads" / "comments" view, I'm even more curious.
I find very little design inspiration for this.
I have a strong hunch that there's gold to be found in some kind of Chat Group UI/UX, but for the discussions (reply sections) you're involved in. Haven't found a clean way to do it yet though. And I'm not sure if using the OP's (post, article, video, ...) is the best way to categorize those discussions.
