The Epsom salt soak did more to help with the swelling than anything else, but don't shy away from anti-inflamatories short term to manage the swelling, and also keep it elevated, preferably above your heart. Ice isn't recommended anymore, but it might help with the pain, so keep it short, no more than 15min/hr. relay.primal.net
