this is hitting the news with absolutely no background as to how or what protocol WhatsApp/Meta are planning on using or if they are working with Telegram and Signal in the interoperability. Super weird that they would add this interface to the shipped binary of WhatsApp without having a protocol already decided but I cant picture that happening in secret
