Do your characters have birthdays or anniversaries during your story?
I don't mention birthdays. I do mention anniversaries here and there though haven't had a scene devoted to them. The humans in my current WIP do celebrate the anniversary of their starship's landing (actually crashing.) It was the 2nd day of the mages' new year so there's a party going on anyway.
