March is almost done. Many who began #MarchOffTwitter kept to it. Many gave up. Many never committed to it in the first place. Whatever your experience was this month, it was what you made of it.
When #MarchOffTwitter first showed up on my feed I was already on the fence about whether to keep my Twitter account. I was using Twitter less and less, and so I deactivated my account which put it in a queue to be permanently deleted after a waiting period. As March comes to a close, I will not be reactivating my account nor going back to Twitter as a user, but will allow the account deletion process to complete itself.
Twitter is still a resource for current info, and I understand referencing it as such. But I don’t find Twitter to be a positive social network experience, nor do I find it anywhere nearly as useful as Nostr in terms of features, and most importantly freedom.
I don’t know what Elon’s end goal is with Twitter, but I have a hard time believing he truly wants free speech considering the changes he has made and continues to make. I truly hope I’m wrong and that he will surprise everyone. Twitter users deserve a good platform. But that’s neither here nor there for me, because Nostr is my social network now, and this is where I will continue to build and interact. Viva la Nostr! Pura vida! 💜🫂🤙
