A family of beavers saved taxpayers an estimated $1.2 million € by flooding a protected former army training ground—before heavy machinery even arrived.
Originally planned in 2018, the project aimed to protect endangered crayfish from sediment & acidic water by building a dam & converting part of the site into a wetland. Land negotiations delayed the work—so #beavers did it themselves, for free!
They built a wetland with pools & canals, twice as large as planned.

🐺 Wolves regulate prey populations, keeping forests & grasslands balanced.
🐻 Bears disperse seeds, shaping entire ecosystems.
🦅 Golden eagles control rodent populations, maintaining the health of wild landscapes.
When we remove keystone species, ecosystems collapse. But when we coexist—when we let nature do what it does best—the land thrives, biodiversity returns, & even our economies benefit.
