He writes "Nothing and no one can stop us" but is that totally true? Couldn't the U.S. government take their domain or DNS or whatever (whether legally or not)? Since Gab is centralized, I would think it's ruggable, and able to rug it's users, unlike Nostr, The Unruggable Social Network.
Also, while Torba might like Nostr's design and capabilities (if he's aware of Nostr), he probably likes having his own platform that he's in control of, even though Christ is King, with it's reported 52 million unique visitors per month.
I think Gab and Twitter and Truth Social and all of the others should set up relays that allow their users' content to show up on the Nostr, and gives them an out when they are asked to take down content by governments. They could take it off their own servers, but can't take it off the Nostr's many relays. Once governments see that takedown requests would be pointless, perhaps they would stop asking.
