After my father was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease in 2018, we started on this journey of intense research, investigation and reaching out to multiple doctors. We were open to any one and anything that could help him. Early research was tough until I found the work of Dr. Dale Bredesen and the Bredesen Protocol.
I was introduced to Dr. Bredesen by finding the paper he published in 2014 called: Reversal of cognitive decline: a novel therapeutic program. And this paper is what we’ll be getting into a little more in depth in this video.
In the paper, Dr. Bredesen describes that 9/10 patients, with diagnosed mild cognitive impairment or established Alzheimer’s Disease had improved and reversed their symptoms of cognitive decline and reversed their cognitive deficits.
9/10! Where else have you seen a study like this?
The 9 who improved started seeing their improvements within 3-6 months. 3-6 months is not a long time.
But listen to this: 6/10 patients had cognitive deficits to the point that they had had to leave their jobs and stop working before the study. They had suffered memory loss, executive function loss, judgement issues, dyslexia and dyscalculia. BUT all six eventually were able to return to work after starting the Bredesen Protocol program. The longest patient followup was 2.5 years after the start of the treatment program and there was still sustained improvement.
So what was the program?
Dr. Bredesen’s first iteration of the protocol, for this study, was called the MEND Protocol: MEND for Metabolic Enhancement for Neurodegeneration.
Metabolic being the key word here.
What is metabolic?
Metabolism.
What is metabolism?
Metabolism, in the simplest sense, is the chemical process of the body converting the food, water and oxygen we consume into energy...
Hope this is helpful for you and your family. Thank you for watching!
