Knowing that this software, the way it is right now, will still work the same way it does right now, and I’ll be able to earn my money with it.

And sometimes it's just a matter of not having more money. I use one feature of an app once a year. A yearly subscription doesn't make sense, as I don’t use the features that justify the expense.
