Integrating this into the AC grid is a nightmare because you need defined systems for (re)starting this microgrid. Some system has to provide the sine wave and frequency all other systems can sync to.

Once that central point drops due to a blackout or brownout you're in quite a trouble bringing your disconnected microgrid back up.

The solution is to switch to DC microgrids like in the video. There is no problem as any unit can start or restart the system.
