Red arrow on the left is Pepperdine and the red arrow on the right is the Malibu pier.
The area on this map that is not burning is a highly concentrated 'downtown' area of Malibu where most of the city operations happen.
Following the road out to the right heads to Santa Monica and is basically a line of cliffs along the PCH. There are beach front houses and businesses all along that route.
There are roads that come from that downtown area north that are already burned.
This is a huge disaster right in the middle of town.
