Continuing my thought: It's essential to Apple to be able to declare primacy in its spaces - smartphones, tablets, wearables. That won't happen with games, at least not internalized as an Apple technology.
Games are always going to be an external product category that work ultimately in service to Apple's hardware. Not the other way around.
