The algorithm created the Attention Economy. In the AE, “likes” actually help artists a lot. Attention begets more attention which translates to 🤑 on the back end.
With V4V, marketing and revenue are separate. With the AE, they’re combined in a flywheel. It’s simplified in a way that the average person finds convenient.
V4V does not have the same compounding / exponential power and thus sucks in comparison.
