Cybele was worshiped across the ancient world including in Rome and Greece. She was a goddess of nature, fertility and femininity. Worshipers believed that no masculinity could exist around her and the priests of Cybele would self castrate in a ceremony to show their devotion to Cybele. The priests of Cybele would dress in women's clothing and outwardly present in a feminine way.
