stupid programming question: if i have something that is a file, a special file, or a directory, is there a good* name that covers all three file-like objects inside a filesystem? in the same way that you might talk about a record or entry or row in a database, e.g. "a <noun> in a filesystem"
* good as in better than "filesystem entry" or "file object" or "resource"
nb: no need to rt this thank you in advance
