Have you ever seen "Elephant" (based on the Columbine school massacre), it features a student who uses the school photo lab, and wanders round taking photos of fellow students, which was a wonderful way of showing the daily life of the school, and giving the movie momentum.
(It's slow, but mesmerising. One of my favourite movies)!
