Would it be _technically_ possible to gradually upgrade the grid in the USA from 110 V (60 Hz) to 230 V (50 Hz)?
Perhaps by mandating that all new installations should be able to handle a future switch? Or perhaps by going street by street, house by house, and switching it over?
