My wife and I got a bunch of free antiques and tools from a couple who were clearing out their parents home.
Back around 2018, their parents were running low on money. They owned a home in a beautiful gated community, and they tapped a reverse mortgage for $400,000.
Since covid and the corporate bailouts we funded through inflationary money printing, their home is now "worth" $1 million.
Their children came up to help move them into a nursing home because they were unable to take care of themselves anymore. Upon coming to help them, they learned that their parents had reverse mortgaged their house, they were currently in debt, and they had no assets.
The bank gave them $400,000 back in 2018, and then the government and Banks inflated the currency into Oblivion. Now that home is "worth" 1M and the bank gets to keep it.
The kids were upset because if the parents had reached out they would have helped them, so that they could inherit the property and help them stay solvent. Instead, the banks took advantage of people that were too afraid to ask for help.
Don't let anyone you love reverse mortgage, their home. That's an easy way to let the banks get everything. They count on people not saving enough and getting inflated away, so that all the assets flow to the state and the banks. This is by design.
